The Department of Turkish Education, part of Adıyaman University's Faculty of Education, began accepting students for the first time in the 2008-2009 academic year. Established in 2008 as the Department of Turkish Education, the Department has been operating as the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education since 2016, following the restructuring of the education faculties.
With its young and well-equipped academic staff, the Department contributes to the literature through articles, book chapters, and presentations, and continues to influence university rankings with its articles included in international indexes.
With young faculty members who have completed their doctoral studies in Turkish education at established universities in Turkey, the Department strengthens its strengths and provides a high-quality education. The Department prioritizes students' academic development and developments course content in accordance with the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) guidelines.
Social Studies Education
Our faculty, established in 1987 as a part of Gaziantep University and commencing its activities in the 1997-1998 academic year, continues its activities as the Faculty of Education affiliated with Adıyaman University following the establishment of Adıyaman University in 2006. The Higher Education Executive Board, with its decision dated November 4, 1997 and numbered 97.39.2761, initiated the restructuring process within the Education Faculties. As a result, the Department of Social Studies Education was established within the Primary Education Department of our Faculty of Education. It accepted its first students in the 2001-2002 academic year and graduated in 2005.
