Turkish Education
The Department of Turkish Education, part of Adıyaman University's Faculty of Education, began accepting students for the first time in the 2008-2009 academic year. Established in 2008 as the Department of Turkish Education, the Department has been operating as the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education since 2016, following the restructuring of the education faculties.
With its young and well-equipped academic staff, the Department contributes to the literature through articles, book chapters, and presentations, and continues to influence university rankings with its articles included in international indexes.
With young faculty members who have completed their doctoral studies in Turkish education at established universities in Turkey, the Department strengthens its strengths and provides a high-quality education. The Department prioritizes students' academic development and develops course content in accordance with the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) guidelines.
Social Studies Education
The duration of study is four (4) academic years. The language of instruction is Turkish. Our Social Studies Education Department trains Social Studies teachers to teach Social Studies in 5th, 6th, and 7th grades and Turkish Revolutionary History and Kemalism in 8th grade at the middle school level. Our students are eligible for Inter-Institutional and Central Horizontal Transfer opportunities. The Department of Social Studies Education at ADYU's Faculty of Education has one professor, three associate professors, one assistant professor, one lecturer, and one research assistant. While there are slight variations from year to year, the Department enrolls approximately 233 students. Our Social Studies Teaching program is highly sought-after, based on university preference results. Quotas are filled each year.
