Department of Educational Sciences

History

Department of Educational Sciences established in 1987 under Gaziantep University and started its educational activities in 1997-1998, continued its activities under the Adiyaman University Faculty of Education with the establishment of Adiyaman University in 2006.

As of today, the Department of Educational Sciences provides undergraduate and graduate education with five active divisions. We educate in the Division of Psychological Counseling and Guidance at the undergraduate level. Also, we educate in the Divisions of Psychological Counseling and Guidance, Curriculum and Instruction, and Educational Administration at the graduate level.

In addition, the courses requested by other undergraduate programs within the Faculty of Education (such as educational psychology, assessment and evaluation in education, educational sociology) are also carried out by our department.

Mission

Our goal in both undergraduate and graduate education is to train qualified teachers and researchers equipped with 21st-century skills to respond to the needs of the country in this direction and therefore to develop them in the light of global and national values adopted in the field of Educational Sciences and current developments.

Vision

To be a preferred department where learning, teaching, and contributing to science take place, with its existing resources and strong infrastructure tailored to current developments.
