About

       Faculty of Education was established in 1987 as the department education under Gaziantep University and started its first educational activities in 1997-1998. After the founding of Adiyaman University as an independent state university in 2006, the Faculty of Education continued its activities as one of the Flagships of Adiyaman University. 

       The Faculty of Education continues its activities in two main buildings namely Block A and B. Block A built by the Vehbi Koç Foundation in 2006 and called Vehbi Koç Building which also serves as the main building and includes Dean's Office. Block B was built-in 2017. In the Faculty of Education, there are 6 departments and 15 undergraduate programs. The Faculty of Education, as of the 2019-2020 academic year, has 78 academic staff including 4 professors, 20 associate professors, 29 assistant professors, 6 lecturers with Ph.D., 1 lecturers, 2 international lecturer, 5 research assistants with Ph.D., and 11 research assistants. A total of 2666 pre-service undergraduate students, 15 of them international students, are trained to be high-qualified educators. 

       The duration of all undergraduate programs in the faculty is 4 years. The students participate in both academic and professional course work, while also working in public schools in collaborations with the faculty of education and Department of Education in Adiyaman. With this complementary approach, pre-service teachers develop their knowledge and confidence through their coursework and fieldwork in schools.
