The Departments affiliated with the Department of Mathematics and Science Education at Adıyaman University Faculty of Education were previously under the umbrella of the Faculty of Education Primary Education Department. Following a revision by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in 2016, they were brought together under the Department of Mathematics and Science Education. The Department of Mathematics and Science Education continues its undergraduate and graduate (Master's and Doctorate) education and training activities with its Division of Primary Mathematics Education and Division of Science Education. As of the 2025-2026 academic year, the Division of Primary Mathematics Education has 2 professors, 5 associate professors, 1 assisstant professor, and 1 research assistant doctor; and the Division of Science Education has 4 professors, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professor, and 1 research assistant. As of the 2025–2026 academic year, there are 132 undergraduate students in the Division of Primary Mathematics Education and 85 undergraduate students in the Division of Science Education. At the graduate level, 29 students (27 Master’s, 2 Joint PhD) are enrolled in the Primary Mathematics Education division, while 31 students (26 Master’s, 5 PhD) are enrolled in the Science Education division.
The Primary Mathematics Education and Science Education teacher education programs within our department were accredited by the Evaluation and Accreditation Association of Teacher Training Programs (EPDAD) on May 1, 2025.
